This is where you will find the latest casting news for Jeff Carney Films.
Typically 5-9 weeks before filming begins, we will announce where to go in the Moline, Illinois/Davenport, Iowa area to audition.
The director, Jeff Carney, is currently looking at filming locations in and around the Quad Cities (Rock Island and Moline Illinois / Davenport and Bettendorf Iowa) for his next film. Once a filming date has been established then local casting will begin. Anyone 18 yrs and older can audition as Jeff will look for all types for different characters (both male and female) during casting. You should bring a headshot (examples below) and resume (be sure to include any acting experience) with your contact information - both of which are non returnable.
Below are various examples of headshots used for casting. I get asked sometimes what are headshots - nothing more than a photo of yourself. They can be professionally taken or be as simple as a photo taken at home. They usually have your acting resume with contact information either printed or attached on the back.

Once you are at the audition you will be asked to study the script page(s), for a few minutes, and then read some script dialogue on camera which will be video taped. Then you'll be thanked and you can leave. The process is actually very easy and quick. Not like American Idol at all which is what many people fear.
The best advice, whenever you audition for a film, is to be natural on camera. I can't stress enough how important that is. You don't want to sound like you are reading the script and you don't want to sound like you are projecting your voice to the back of an auditorium which happens sometimes with stage experienced actors. When you are on camera, the audience is right there and not sitting far from you like when you are performing on stage so there is no need to exaggerate your performance. Being natural is very important when acting for film.
After the local auditions, I will select the actors usually within 2 weeks of the auditions.
I generally will cast two films with every audition so even if you are not selected for the current film, you will be reconsidered for the next film when it comes time to cast that project.
Due to a lot of interest, which is appreciated, I now can accept casting submissions immediately prior to local auditions. Click here to contact me for details on how to submit via email so you can be put on file to be considered for future acting opportunities.
