An American Love

"AN AMERICAN LOVE (aka Un Amore Americano) was a TV mini series (two parts) that starred Brooke Shields and Carlo Delle Piane. It was produced by Antonio Avati  and Georgi Leopardi and directed by Piero Schivazappa. The film was about an Italian, played by Carlo Delle Piane, who comes to an American University, where he falls in love with a woman, played by Brooke Shields, without her really knowing it.

The film gave me a chance to reunite with Duea Film yet again and work with sound men Chat Gunter and Raffaele DeLuca.  It was the first film after we had last worked together on the movie Bix An Interpretation of A Legend. The majority of the crew stayed the same for all of the Duea Films so knew each other and worked really well together. Plus it was a chance to do a TV mini series which was broken done into two parts (basically two 90 minute movies).

Below you will find the behind the scenes photos. Also below are three behind the scenes video segments that I edited together recently of footage that was taken by St. Ambrose University
TV-11 during the making of the film since we filmed the mini series on their campus in Davenport, Iowa. The footage includes lots of shots of the sound department so you'll see Chat Gunter, Raffaele DeLuca, and myself working on the film.

One shoot required us to film on a yacht which crusied up and down the Mississippi River for the day. Due to the limited space on the boat, only a small part of the crew was taken.

car that the actors ride in so the sounds of the car driving can be
recorded for use in the film. Chat Gunter behind the wheel,

The camera car getting ready to leave with Brooke Shields and
Carlo Delle Piane on board. Most driving shots in films are
done this way, with the car involving the  actors being towed and
not actually driven. This allows the actors to concentrate on
their dialogue/scene and not on the traffic.
